Croatia was the first team to reach the semi-finals at the World Handball Championship. In the Arena of Zagreb, the team defeated the Hungarian team 31:30 on Tuesday evening. In the competitive game it was 16:16 at the break, no lemon grass stem fit until the final siren between the two teams. Marin Sipic set the buzzerbeater for the acclaimed 31:30 victory for Croatia.
Later in the evening, France prevailed in a surprisingly narrow game 34:33 (18:14) against outsiders Egypt: Only 0.3 seconds before the end of the game, France scored the decisive goal in the Norwegian Fornebu.
