Crimes A man crashed into a test car along a sports car in Vantaa – A “special series of events” began with a loan that seemed innocent

A police patrol spotted a stolen car in the courtyard of a housing association in Tikkurila, and arrested the man.

In Vantaa a special series of events took place on Saturday, in which a man from Vantaa managed to scrap one car on a test drive, escape from the scene of an accident and seize a new car from another car dealership.

The events originated from a car dealership in Tikkurila, where a man got a rather expensive Ford Mustang car for a test drive.

During the test drive, the suspect had apparently been speeding, as several reports of a driver crashing in Vantaa had arrived at the emergency center.

In Ilola, the driver collided with red traffic lights behind a stopped car. The collision took place at the intersection of Koivukylänväylä and Epinkoskentie at about 1.30 pm.

Both the cars were badly damaged in the collision and the driver of another car was injured. He was taken to hospital for examination.

“The suspect did not leave his contact details and left the scene of the accident on foot. The Ford Mustang was left at the crash site, ”says the crime commissioner Timo Luoto.

Next, the man got his hands on the keys to another car from a car dealership on Veromiehen Virkatie. The man took over the car without permission at about 2.50 p.m.

A police patrol spotted this stolen car in the courtyard of a Tikkurila housing association later on Saturday. The suspect was caught near the car.

“The series of events can be described as special. Such things do not happen every day, ”Luoto sums up.

The driver who caused the collision is suspected of having committed a serious risk to road safety, injuries and the escape of traffic, as well as the theft of a motor vehicle in another case under investigation.
