Covisoc, mass resignation after the Government Budget Authority
The president and three members of Covisoc have submitted their irrevocable resignations to the FIGC president Gabriele Gravina. Starting from June 30th, once the registration procedures for the professional leagues for the 2024/25 season have been completed, Germana Panzironi (president TAR Abruzzo), Angelo Fanizza (Lazio TAR magistrate), Gianna Galluzzo (state lawyer) e Salvatore Mezzacapo (president of TAR Campania – Salerno section) will no longer be members of the ‘Supervision Commission for professional clubs’.
Covisoc 4 members resign: “There are no longer the conditions to operate”
Unanimously nominated last November together with Prof. Giuseppe Marini, e with still more than three years in office, they decided to resign because – they write in a letter – ‘with the approval of the Legislative Decree establishing the independent Commission for the verification of the economic and financial balance of professional sports clubs, with the simultaneous suppression of CoViSoc, the conditions for operating have disappeared‘.
Gravina: ‘Sport loses high profile figures’
“I thank President Panzironi and the members for the competence and impartiality they have shown since the first day of their appointment – declares the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina – I understand the reasons for this choice and I regret that the world of sport is losing such high profile figures. In recent months, they have carried out their duties with professionalism and a spirit of service, as they have also confirmed by guaranteeing their contribution until the end of this sporting season, both in terms of controls and in the constant and fruitful discussion for the improvement of the rules concerning the economic-financial sustainability of professional football”.
