Intensive care in Italy beyond the critical threshold. This is today’s data on the management of the covid emergency in hospitals. The critical threshold of 15% was also reached for the occupancy of beds in the ordinary wards.
The national average Covid-19 patient occupancy of hospital beds in resuscitation wards has risen from Christmas Day to 12%, 2 percentage points above the critical 10% level. This confirms a constant increase, after the threshold of 10% was reached on 14 December, which rose to 11% on 17 December and 12% on 25 December. This is what emerges from the latest data from the National Agency for Health Services (Agenas), which, as regards the different areas of the country, registers as many as 13 Regions and Autonomous Provinces that exceed the 10% threshold. In first place the Province of Trento with 22% employment, followed by that of Bolzano and Liguria, both with 19%.
Friuli Venezia Giulia records 17%, followed by Veneto and Calabria with 16%, Marche (15%), Lazio and Piedmont (14%), Tuscany (13%), Abruzzo, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna at 12%. In the balance Umbria, which is positioned right on the threshold of 10%.
Furthermore, according to the latest data from Agenas yesterday, the national average of occupancy of beds in ordinary wards rose by one percentage point from 14% (a value that had remained stable from 22 to 25 December) to 15%. In ‘geographical’ detail, there are 9 Regions and Autonomous Provinces beyond the threshold, with Valle d’Aosta in first place with a percentage double compared to the maximum value, equal to 30% of employment. Followed by Calabria at 28% and Liguria at 27%.
Friuli Venezia Giulia has an employment of 22%, closely followed by the Marche at 21%, by Veneto at 18%, Sicily and Piedmont (17%). In the balance Lazio and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano are ‘firm’ at 15%.
