Unvaccinated health workers, suspended and cured by Covid, cannot return to work: the vaccine is needed. A circular from the Ministry of Health, in response to the doubts of the Federation of Orders of Surgeons and Dentists (Fnomceo), clarifies that the recovery from Covid-19 of doctors and health workers, according to current legislation, “is not suitable for legitimize the revocation of the suspension “from work due to not having fulfilled the vaccination obligation. Therefore “it is not a decisive element” for the professional association to which it belongs, which must instead “ascertain the professional’s vaccination status”.
Fnomceo had turned to the ministry regarding the data of vaccinated / unvaccinated health professionals on the days of 7 and 14 February, detected by the National Platform-Dgc, in which information on the recoveries of professionals, initially not present, had also been included . And this – we read in the same circular – had created “disorientation”. In response, the ministry reiterated, therefore, that “the suspension of healthcare is effective until the person concerned communicates with the Order of the completion of the primary vaccination cycle and, for professionals who have completed the primary vaccination cycle, of the administration of the booster dose “. Hence Fnomceo’s recommendation to the Orders not to “proceed with the revocation of suspensions” “as long as the Platform is not adequate to the relevant legislation”.
The Cabinet Office of the ministry – reads in a note that Fnomceo herself then sent to the provincial orders of doctors and dentists – has in fact “reiterated that the Dgc Platform must be brought into conformity with the procedures proving the status of anti Sars vaccination and that the Directorate General for the digitization of the health information system and statistics of the Ministry of Health will adapt the data provided by the information system to the aforementioned principle “.
