The transmissibility index (Rt), calculated with data updated to May 29 and based on cases with hospitalization, “is below the epidemic threshold, equal to 0.93, stable compared to the previous week (Rt 0.9); The incidence of Covid-19 cases diagnosed and reported in the period 23-29 May is equal to 1.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, substantially stable compared to the previous week (1.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the week 16-22 May)”.
The weekly incidence (May 23-29) of diagnosed and reported cases “is stable in almost all regions compared to the previous week. The highest incidence was reported in the Lazio region (4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) and the lowest in Molise, where no new cases were reported in the week of observation” , we read in the report.
As of May 29th, “the occupancy of beds in the medical area was 1.0%, stable compared to the previous week (0.9% as of May 22nd). The occupancy of beds in intensive care was also stable, equal to 0.3%, compared to the previous week (0.3% on May 22)”.
