The federal government managed to anticipate the arrival of 35 million vaccines against covid-19 that would arrive in Brazil in December. The initial forecast for the month of November was to receive 61.8 million doses from the laboratories, but that number rose to 98 million doses.
According to the Ministry of Health’s forecast, 21.7 million doses of AstraZeneca, 56.7 million of Pfizer and 7.7 million of Janssen, of a single dose, should be delivered. “Our campaign is doing very well. By the end of the year, the entire Brazilian population can be fully vaccinated with the two doses of vaccine”, said the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, during an agenda in João Pessoa (PB).
So far, 344.1 million doses have been delivered to the states and the Federal District by the Ministry of Health. Brazil has applied more than 280.9 million doses of vaccines against covid-19. More than 156.3 million people took the first dose – representing about 88.3% of the target population (177 million people). More than 124.6 million Brazilians completed the vaccination schedule, that is, around 70.4% of the target audience.
