Likewise, gusty winds are expected from 50 to 70 kilometers per hourwith possible dust devilsin Aguascalientes, Baja California, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Durango, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas.
Conagua added that in Coahuila and Nuevo Leóncould form whirlwinds. In the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in Oaxaca, and in Veracruz, southerly winds with gusts of equal magnitude and possible dust devils are expected, as well as possible whirlwinds in Tamaulipas.
It is also anticipatedn wind gusts of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in Campeche, Quintana Roo and Yucatán, with possible dust devils in Baja California Sur, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit and Sonora.
These meteorological conditions are a consequence of a dry line in northern Coahuila, combined with a low pressure channel that extends over northern and central Mexico.
Additionally, instability at high levels of the atmosphere, along with moisture influx from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, and the subtropical jet stream, contribute to this picture.
