Cologne – The Lord Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker has defended the start of the carnival despite high corona incidences. “What if we had said: We’ll do it like last year, there is no carnival celebrated,” said the non-party politician at a press conference on Thursday. “I am firmly convinced that we would not have succeeded this year.”
