One day before the start of the Women’s Copa América, the Dimayor club assembly dealt a blow to the professional leagueby deciding not to play the tournament in the second half of 2022.
In a statement sent to the media, Dimayor announced that it appointed the representatives of professional soccer in the Executive Committee of the Colombian Soccer Federation to “organize and carry out a women’s competition for the second semester of 2022, considering the elements discussed in the meeting”.

The Women’s League came from an important advance
The measure is a step backwards in the development of the Women’s League, after it had been achieved, for the first time since its creation in 2017, that the tournament was played with the all-against-all system.with 150 matches played and a final between América and Deportivo Cali attended by more than 38,000 spectators.
The decision did not go unnoticed by the group of 23 players of the Colombian National Team that will debut this Friday in the Copa América Femenina, facing Paraguay, at the Pascual Guerrero stadium in Cali.
