Congressman Wille Rydman (Kok) is resigning from the Coalition’s parliamentary group so far, the party said on Tuesday.
The Coalition Parliamentary Group will meet today at Tuesday at 3 pm for an extraordinary meeting to discuss Rydman’s case. HS will show live Ilta-Sanomat on the spot.
HS’s textual follow-up of events can be found under this story.
Coalition Party chairman Petteri Orpo and the chairman of the parliamentary group Kai Mykkänen spoke with Rydman on Tuesday, the party said in a statement. As a conclusion to these discussions, Rydman differs from the parliamentary group.
According to the Coalition Party, the matter can be re-examined “if any further investigations restore confidence”.
With the resignation of the parliamentary group, Rydman will also resign from his committee seats. He has been a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and an alternate member of the Administrative Committee.
Rydman informed HS on Tuesday that he had no comment to make.
Rydman has, according to several women, been treated inappropriately towards them. On Sunday, Helsingin Sanomat published an extensive article on the subject.

The women who have been in contact with Rydman say he was inappropriate and sexually explicit in his speeches, behaved threateningly and drank alcohol to them. Some of the women have been minors when Rydman has approached them.
Rydman himself denies having acted improperly against the women in the story.
Kai Mykkänen and Petteri Orpo discussed the topic with Rydman on Tuesday.
“After an in-depth discussion, we agreed that there is no trust and he cannot continue as a member of the parliamentary group. When he understood the situation, it seemed sensible to make such a co-decision. We informed about it immediately, ”Mykkänen tells HS.
Did Rydman deny the events in the conversation?
“I can’t answer that. We have a consensus that things have happened here that have eroded confidence in Rydman’s work. We made it clear, ”says Mykkänen.
Chairman Orphan said On Sunday, the Coalition Party takes the allegations made in Helsingin Sanomat “extremely seriously”. He said the party will begin to find out what “everything is at stake” and then reassess Rydman’s role in the Coalition.
Mykkänen, on his Twitter account, announced on Sunday that the Coalition Party is ready to help the authorities in every way to clear up suspicions of harassment against MP Rydman.
