Finland’s obligation is to halve the emissions of the burden-sharing sector from 2005 levels by 2030.

Minister of the Environment Emma Kari (Green) reports on Friday afternoon the government’s decision to strengthen climate action.

The measures concern the so-called burden-sharing sector, which includes, inter alia, transport and agriculture, as well as waste and separate heating of buildings, ie areas not covered by emissions trading.

Key decisions on climate action were taken last autumn, but they are now being confirmed to ensure that Finland achieves its climate goals. Finland’s obligation is to halve the emissions of the burden-sharing sector from 2005 levels by 2030.
