“This triumph of the people of Mexico is the triumph of the revolution of consciences,” declared Sheinbaum, highlighting the historic citizen participation in the June 2 elections, which culminated with more than 35 million votes in favor of the Fourth Transformation ( 4T).
In his speech, Sheinbaum emphasized that his government Not only will continue with the humanist project of the 4T, but it will also mark a historic moment as it will be the first time that a woman assumes the Presidency of the Republic. “I promise not to disappoint you. Today we have made possible the continuity and advancement of the Fourth Transformation, and for the first time in 200 years, women reached the Presidency,” she stated.
Sheinbaum paid tribute to historical women who have fought for the country, mentioning figures such as Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez, Elvia Carrillo Puerto and Margarita Maza. She stressed that the victory of the 4T reflects the recognition and desire of the Mexican people for a transformative movement.
“I feel excited and grateful for the recognition they have given to the Fourth Transformation of public life in Mexico,” concluded Sheinbaum, ensuring that she will govern with humility and deep responsibility.
