The General Command of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior called on the owners of factories, commercial establishments and residences to adhere to instructions and safety and prevention requirements, and to stay away from installing random electrical additions, while emphasizing the need to carry out maintenance and renewal work for electrical appliances by certified and qualified specialists and technicians to carry out maintenance work to avoid damage or breach safety and prevention conditions. , warning against excessive electrical loads and random installations by non-technical or specialized persons, resulting in pressure on electrical networks, and this may lead to fires.
Major General Dr. Jassim Muhammad Al-Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior, stressed the importance of adhering to and following the instructions and preventive measures in all residential and commercial establishments, noting that unqualified electrical loads and maintenance pose a serious threat to the lives of community members, as it is possible to cause the possibility of fires. , not to mention if the switchgear rooms are open and not tightly closed, which causes an electrical short, resulting in large fires that lead to dire consequences, such as loss of human lives and severe injuries with loss of property and public and private gains.
Al-Marzouqi pointed out that the summer period is the most season of the year in which domestic accidents are recorded, due to the high temperature and the accompanying continuous operation of air conditioning units throughout the house, in addition to the frequent use of electronic devices and connecting them to one electrical socket, without knowing the electrical voltage of the device.
He called for following the instructions and preventive safety instructions and the necessity of having electrical circuit breakers suitable for the voltage of the electricity in every home, and turning off all electrical appliances and unnecessary air conditioning before bed.
The Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defense also warned against using poorly made or worn-out devices, tools, and electrical wires in electrical installations, which would cause them to exceed the load assigned to them, and cause fire accidents that may occur at any time.
And he sent a message to members of society, citizens and residents, of the necessity to follow safety and prevention conditions and work to rationalize the use of electric current and avoid overloading, especially during peak times of electrical energy use, in order to achieve security and safety for all.
