China has launched a new batch of satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Base in northern China’s Shanxi Province. The operation marked the liftoff of the first batch of satellites of the first generation of the Spacesail constellationdesigned for fprovide global users with low-latency, high-speed, ultra-reliable satellite internet servicessimilar to the service offered by Elon Musk with the Starlink satellites. This ambitious project was realized thanks to the collaboration with the China Great Wall Industry Corporation, which provided the launch service.
The group of 18 satellites, aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket, has successfully reached the pre-set orbit. This launch represents the 530th mission of the Long March rocket series.
