Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs looks wrapped again in a whirlwind of legal scandals. This time, a fashion designer named Bryana ‘Bana’ Bongolan has filed a lawsuit against him for sexual assault, intentional imposition of emotional distress and death threats. According to the complaint obtained by ‘Rolling Stone’, Bongolan accuses Combs of hang it from the balcony of a 17th floor in September 2016, in what he describes as an attempted murder or deliberate intimidation. The lawsuit, which has also been mentioned by ‘NME’, requests a compensation of 10 million of dollars for the damages caused.
The events, according to the lawsuit, occurred in the apartment of Cassie Ventura, who at that time was in a relationship with Combs. Bongolan says he was sleeping at the Ventura home when, at 4 a.m., Combs burst in, visibly upset and banging on the door. Upon entering, the designer was cornered and attacked on the balcony, where Combs lifted her by the armpits until she was placed on the railing, suspended above the void. In his statement, Bongolan’s attorney, James R. Nikraftar, noted that “the sole purpose of hanging someone over a balcony is to kill or terrorize her intentionally,” a phrase that was recorded in the legal document.
Fortunately, the attack was interrupted when Ventura, in a desperate attempt to save her friend, intervened in the attack. However, Bongolan assures that, before releasing her, Combs he threw her violently against the balcony furniture. The designer also mentions in her lawsuit that, on several occasions, she witnessed physical and emotional violence between Combs and Ventura, including one incident where she saw Ventura with a black eye and multiple bruiseswhich the latter attributed to Combs.
The complaint adds that, during a previous confrontation, Combs threatened Bongolan by saying, “I’m the fucking devil. You have no idea what it could do to you. “I could kill you.” These words, according to the complaint, are part of a pattern of constant abuse and intimidation.
Combs’ response and the legal context
For their part, Sean Combs’ legal representatives have flatly rejected these accusations. In a statement sent to Rolling Stone, they assured that “anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have.” Likewise, they stressed that Bongolan had stated your intention to sue to Combs for more than a year and that the artist denies the accusations, confident that they will be proven unfounded in court.
This new case adds to a long list of demands that Combs faces since 2023. The music producer and businessman is currently being held without bail at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting a trial scheduled for May 2025, in which he is accused federal charges of sex trafficking and organized crime conspiracy. The denial of his bail has been maintained due to the risks he represents to the community, arguing that Combs could manipulate witnesses if he were released.
Furthermore, in recent months there have emerged more than 30 civil lawsuits against him, accusing him of sexual abuse, physical violence and child trafficking. These cases span from the 1990s to the present, involving artists, models and others who allege they were victims of Combs as minors.
Regarding Bongolan’s case, his lawyer assured that the lawsuit aims to make Combs “take responsibility for the trauma he intentionally and maliciously inflicted.”
A new shadow on the figure of Combs
This scandal, far from fading, continues to expand the shadow that hangs over the music businessman, who is already in the eye of the hurricane due to the multiple lawsuits he faces. Bongolan’s complaint highlights an even darker side of Combs, marked by threats, physical violence and emotional control. Meanwhile, the rapper continues to maintain his innocence, trusting that the truth will come to light in court. However, what is undeniable is that this new episode only further aggravates his already complicated legal situation.
The lawsuit filed by Bongolan was formalized this week in Los Angeles Superior Court and, if he is awarded the requested compensation, it would be one of the largest lawsuits filed against Combs to date.
