OpenAI extends the availability of advanced features such as personalized GPTs and data analysis to all ChatGPT users, expanding the possibilities for interaction and customization.
Users of the free version of ChatGPT can now explore new frontiers of artificial intelligence with access to custom GPTs and data analysis features previously reserved for paid subscribers. These options were made available following the update to GPT-4o in early May.
Features coming to everyone
Until recently, features like custom GPTs, data analysis, charting, viewing, and file uploading were exclusive to ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Enterprise users. Now, even free users can take advantage of these advanced tools, albeit with some limitations. For example, while they can use existing custom GPTs – which range across thousands of different functions – they won’t have the ability to create their own.
However, all this remains very interesting, especially considering that those who have created their own customizable GPTs now you will be able to share them with other users who have the free version. One of the most useful features now accessible is data analysis and charting. Users can connect your OneDrive or Google Drive profiles to ChatGPT for faster analysis and customizable graphs, greatly enhancing work with large volumes of information.
And those only for subscribers
Despite the opening of many features, paid subscribers still retain some exclusive benefits, such as message limits. In fact, when free users reach their message or conversation limit using GPT-4o, they will automatically be redirected to GPT-3.5.
One aspect that remains unchanged for all users is the removal of the Sky voice, known for her resemblance to that of Scarlett Johansson in the movie “Her,” which was previously dropped by OpenAI following controversy. However, the other entries remain available and accessible on ChatGPT.
