The manager of the venue has decided to stay there with them
It does not close the Cat Cafe in Lvivwhich remains open despite the war in Ukraine is in full swing and is causing continuing deaths among civilians and also among animals in Ukrainian cities. 20 cats living within the facility would find themselves alone e in danger. And the manager of the club has no intention of leaving them alone.
More than a million civilians have fled the battered country war unleashed by Russia. Families bring their pets with them, not without some difficulty.
Serhii Oliinyk he decided instead to stay in Lviv, a city 70 kilometers from the Polish border, together with his family. She must continue to take care of the 20 cats that are home to the Cat Cafe that the family opened over 6 years ago.
Serhii Oliinyk told The Dodo why this decision was dangerous for him and his family:
Our cats have been living in the cat cafe since the age of 4 months. They are like family. We realized that we would never leave our country, that this was the only place we could see each other in the future.
So the Cat Cafe Lviv has decided to stay open, giving a moment of respite to people fleeing the war.
Cat Cafe Lviv remains open in Ukraine
We currently have fewer regular visitors, but there are people who come from other cities and need hot food and positive emotions. There are three large rooms in our venue, two of which are located in the basement, so in the event of an air raid warning, there is a safe haven for our guests and cats.
These are the words of the man who will continue to live in his Ukraine, even if Russian bombs continue to fall from above, sowing death and destruction everywhere.
