Apparently Konami brought to theaters a new game Of Castlevaniabut unfortunately this is the now traditional disappointment: it is not a video game, but rather a cabinet which also looks like a clone.
Castlevania: Marble of Soulsthis is the name of the coin-op, is in fact a simple reinterpretation of Marble Carnival: the functioning and the structure are identical, only the “external packaging” changes, which takes up the style and characters of the Konami series.
It’s not the first time this has happened: already in 2017 the Japanese company announced the return of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but it was a pachinko and fans of the historic franchise didn’t take it very well.
However, hope is not dead
While on the one hand it is true that Konami has never abandoned the intellectual property of Castlevaniawhile using it to create products that are very different from those that video game enthusiasts hope to see one day, at the same time in recent years it seems that something has changed.
THE remakes of Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater in fact, they testify to the company’s desire to return to being a protagonist in the videogame market, relaunching its most successful brands now that the arcade sector business is starting to falter.
So hope is not dead: at some point, hopefully not too far away, it is likely that Konami really announces the return of Castlevania with a new game or a remake that can rekindle interest in the series.
