The number 4 is the recurring number in the Michelin Cup roulette in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. The second round in Imola ends leaving an ultra-close ranking which in fact sees all the protagonists vying for the title, especially as with today’s results the former champions De Giacomi and De Amicis are also close, who until yesterday they were a little late.
The series is impressive, however: with De Giacomi’s victory today in race 2, which follows the first success obtained in the Michelin Cup by Gnemmi yesterday in race 1, there have become 4 different winners in the 4 races held so far, while the first 4 in ranking are contained in just… 4 points!
The leader remains Fenici, who resisted a complicated weekend and greeted Santerno with two precious, in this sense, top-5s, but the Raptor Engineering driver is now just one point behind Giorgi (BeDriver), twice second to Imola, while Gnemmi went up by two points.
Fourth with 4 points is Pastorelli (Dinamic Motorsport), also like Fenici less brilliant than at Misano but still there, while a little further behind but not far behind are De Giacomi (Tsunami RT), De Amicis (Ebimotors) and Brusa ( Before Ghinzani).
Today the victory was fundamental for De Giacomi after three times, despite being classified, the gentleman driver from Brescia was unable to see the checkered flag at the end of the race. The merit goes above all to having started very well at the start and having overtaken Giorgi who was struggling on pole in the category.
Then the final sigh of relief for De Giacomi, who after the celebration of the podium thus concluded the day of the Italian single-brand championship: “Today I was terrified of not seeing the finish line for the umpteenth time, the last lap was very long! I have to congratulate Giorgi and De Amicis because they are also going really fast. This year the championship will be really close”.
And the current one Michelin Cup rankingwhich we publish in full below, fully confirms this: 1. Phoenicians 39 points; 2. Giorgi 38; 3. Gnemmi 37; 4. Pastorelli 35; 5. De Giacomi 27; 6. De Amicis 24; 7. Brusa 22; 8. Stefanelli 16; 9. Intron 6; 10. Montagnese 5; 11. Chirigut 4.
