Mexico City.-The former director of Pemex, Carlos Trevino Medinareported to the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) its owner Alejandro Gertz Manero for alleged acts of torture to force Emilio Lozoya to incriminate him with falsehoods in alleged bribes in the Ethylene XXI contract.
Although he considers this lawsuit to be “useless” because Gertz will not investigate himselfthe former official anticipated that he will denounce the Attorney General before the Department of Justice of the United States, under the Global Magnitsky Law, that persecutes foreigners involved in corruption and human rights violations.
According to Reforma, in the complaint filed last Friday by his lawyer Óscar Zamudio, Treviño in any case asks the FGR open an investigation and withdraw the request for the indictment hearing presented last August before the Federal Criminal Justice Center of Almoloya de Juárez.
The man from Monterrey accuses both Gertz and his right-hand man, Juan Ramos López, Competence Control Prosecutor, of psychologically torturing Lozoya so that he would present on August 11, 2020 the complaint of the alleged bribes for the 2013 energy reform and to maintain the clauses of the contract for the Ethylene XXI plant. The threat was always criminal action against his family.
“While Mr. Lozoya Austin pretended that he was cooperating by providing information, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic in charge of the perpetrator of torture carried out a political persecution against various people, but nothing to confirm what Mr. Lozoya Austin said, obviously, because it had been known since a start that were false”.
“As head of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic AAlexander Gertz Manero subjected Mr. Emilio Lozoya Thalman (father of the former director of Pemex) so that he would agree to comply with imposed conditions that implied the renunciation of rights, both for him and for his two children. All in exchange for the fact that his wife (Gilda Margarita Austin y Solís) could be released, “says the complaint filed with the FGR Human Rights Prosecutor’s Office.

“Without a doubt, the complaint of false facts signed by Mr. Emilio Ricardo Lozoya Austin was obtained through psychological or mental torture perpetrated directly by the head of the FGR, which also forced him to materially acquiesce to the extradition procedure and to change of defenders by some chosen by the Prosecutor’s Office itself who did not oppose the plan forged by its owner”.
