While Square Enix thrilled us by revealing Final Fantasy 7 RebirthCapcom held a presentation for the tenth anniversary of Dragon’s Dogma. As rumors and leaks already pointed out, a sequel to the classic action RPG that we saw in 2012 is already in development.
During his introduction, Hideaki Itsuno, the director of the Dragon’s Dogma original, has pointed out that this second part is being developed with the RE Enginesame engine that we have seen in the last Resident Evil games, Devil May Cry V Y monster hunter rise.
Unfortunately, at the moment there is no more information about it. There is no release date, or trailer to accompany this announcement. Still, it’s nice to see such a beloved series get the attention it deserves. Along with this, we must not forget that a Dragon’s Dogma anime for Netflix is also in development.
In related topics, here you can see the first trailer for the Dragon’s Dogma anime. Similarly, Square Enix also announced today Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Editor’s note:
Although Capcom chose the worst time to reveal this information, it’s nice to see such a sequel already in development. Considering the games the company is working on, we’ll likely see more of Dragon’s Dogma 2 next year, but we may have to wait until 2024 to enjoy this title.
