Colombian tennis player Camila Osorio was eliminated this Monday in its premiere at the Bormingham tournament.
The Colombian lost 6-2 and 6-0 against British Harriet Dart (106th). Dart will face each other in the second round with the Romanian Simona Halep (20th in the world).
Hours later, the 30-year-old former world number 1 defeated Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko (116th) 6-1, 6-4 on Monday in her first match on grass since her Wimbledon title in 2019.
The elimination of Osorio leaves as the only representative of South American tennis in the individual draw of this competition the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (32nd), who won the Nottingham tournament on Sunday and who will face the Czech in the first round of this event. Petra Kvitova (31st).
