The entity has relieved its historical ‘number three’, the Business Director, Juan Antonio Alcaraz, a historical of the group since 2007
CaixaBank has decided to organically close the integration process of Bankia with a change in its management committee through the incorporation of three new directors to the Business area, who will assume, among others, the functions that its ‘number three’ was currently carrying out, the General Director of Business, Juan Antonio Alcaraz, who ceases his activity in the entity.
Alcaraz has been one of the key executives in the development of CaixaBank’s business in recent years. He joined the entity in 2007, just before the previous financial crisis broke out, and has played a key role in these 15 years in the transformation process of the leading entity in Spain, with episodes such as the transformation of ‘la Caixa’ at CaixaBank, the merger process of different savings banks and, finally, the absorption of Bankia.
The board of directors of the bank – 16% owned by the State through the FROBh – has appointed Jaume Masana Ribalta, current director of the Territorial de Catalunya, as the new Business Director; Mariona Vicens Cuyás, currently director of Innovation and Digital Transformation, as the new director of Digital Transformation and Advanced Analytics, and Jordi Nicolau Aymar, currently director of Retail-Customer Experience & Día a Día, as the new director of Payments and Consumer.
After the successful execution of the integration of Bankia, CaixaBank begins a new stage with the aim of maintaining its commercial leadership and facing with full guarantees the great challenges that the sector will face in the coming years. With these appointments, the entity continues to adapt its structure to the future of the financial business to lead the digital transformation of the sector.
