Mikhail Matveev, owner of the Vintage Department Store Ulitsa Lenina in Moscow, told Moslente about the vintage business in the capital, as well as what the main values exist in its work.
The entrepreneur noted that, first of all, he is interested in the personality of the owner of the antique thing. “After all, there is what is called“ provenance ”- the history of ownership. And the things of a conventional cook are just faceless bowls, spoons and ladles, ”he explained.
As an example, he cited a 90-year-old old woman with long fingers as a pianist, in whose apartment there are photographs of a tsarist general with a certain lady on the walls, who turn out to be her father and mother. He noted that such women usually give valuable things for free, guided by the fact that they can benefit someone else.
“The world of such people is sometimes so highly spiritual that I then go away from meetings with them for two days. And I understand that I, a simple guy from Ulyanovsk, have visited another planet. This is the most important find, ”he summed up.
Earlier, the archaeologist spoke about the birch bark letters found in Moscow.
