Alisa saw an unusual ad on eBay: two boxes of Alan Wake download codes for $240, and it was easy for her… So she owns 4,000 printed promotional cards that each contain a download of the original Alan Wake.
After testing 20 cards, Alisa manages to contact Microsoft customer service to see if it is possible to get any of them to work. However, it appears that the cards were never activated by the store that purchased them and are probably over ten years old.
“I imagine these download cards came from a video game store that closed at some point and, for one reason or another, had too many Alan Wake download cards on their shelf. The cards came in two rectangular cardboard boxes that were slightly damaged in the month it took them to arrive from the United States to Finland. “Both boxes weigh about 25 kilos each, making a total of 50 kilos.”
For the owner of 4,000 Alan Wake cards it was a fun experience. Additionally, she is making an Alan Wake 2 fan video inspired by the Alan Wake 2 cutscenes.
“As soon as I saw the eBay listing for 4,000 Alan Wake download cards, I came up with a scene that would use an absurd amount of those items. When I'm done, I'll probably cover a wall in my room with the cards, because it sounds like fun. Also, I love Alan Wake.”
