Social clash between Burioni-Tarro, the filing of the lawsuit arrives
Here comes the final word lawsuits social network that involved two well-known virologists three years ago: Robert Burioni And Julius Tarro. The latter, chief physician at Cotugno in Naples, had in fact sued his colleague for an “offensive” exit, according to him. “Doctor Julius Tarro he has been stating for some time – like Stefano Scoglio – that he was a candidate for the Nobel prize. I wrote on Twitter that if he was nominated for the Nobel prize, I was nominated for Miss Italy. Doctor Giulio Tarro – probably out of envy of my irrepressible physical beauty – felt defamed and, assisted by the famous lawyer Carlo Taormina, sued me. There lawsuit was dismissed”, writes Burioni on Twitter today.

“Doctor Julius Tarro opposed this decision. Thanks to the action of my excellent lawyer Roberto Marchegiani (the same one who chastised Scoglio) this request was refused and the matter definitively archived. So we can publicly state that Doctor Giulio Tarro was a candidate for the Nobel as much as Professor Burioni was at Miss Italia”, adds Burioni. “On the other hand, I publicly thank the lawyer Roberto Marchegiani of the Ancona Bar who defended me with great effectiveness and competence and obtained the final filing by the GIP ”, says the virologist.
But let’s rewind the tape for a moment. It was April 2020, Italy was in the midst of the first Covid wave, when a real “social” dispute broke out between the two virologists. The disagreement between the two originated from a tweet from the deputy Gianfranco Rotondi according to which the virologist Julius Tarrochief physician emeritus of Cotugno who was the first to isolate the cholera vibrio, “today bets his reputation by saying that in a month the Coronavirus will abandon us like all flu crowns”.
The virologist then intervened under his tweet Robert Burioni to openly criticize – like others on the platform – the thesis supported by Cotugno’s chief emeritus: “Tarro was nominated for the Nobel as much as I was for Miss Italy”. An exit that could not go unnoticed. In fact, Tarro’s reply to Burioni’s words arrived shortly after. And the log is the same. “He is right about one thing, wrote the virologist. he only has to do the catwalks like Miss Italy, but without opening his mouth”.
