Burela defeated STV Roldán 3-1 this Saturday in the second leg of the playoff semifinal for the First Division League title, a result that left Torre Pacheco’s team out of the final. Joaquín Peñaranda’s men were forced to win on the Galician team’s court after drawing 1-1 at home in the first leg.
The first part was of almost absolute domain of the premises. The only chance for the Murcians was the goal, in the 9th minute, in a counterattack that Noelia finished very well. Peque scored the equalizer for Burela before the break.
The second half started badly for Roldán. The first minute of the resumption had not yet been completed when the Galician Emilly, from the edge, beat Cristina with a Vaseline. With the score against, the Peñaranda players stretched themselves, who had occasion. Consuelo and Carmen were able to score, but Peque’s second goal in Saturday’s game, this time in the 29th minute, put Burela ahead 3-1. With just over six minutes to go, Mayte, Roldán’s best player, narrowed the gap. Andrea was able to score the tie, but her shot hit the post. Despite the final push, the game ended 3-2 and Roldán returns home with their heads held high, after a season in which they have shown that their players have a lot to say.
