LONDON (Reuters) – British nationals who choose to stay in Ukraine should not expect any military evacuation if a conflict with Russia breaks out, Britain’s Armed Forces Minister James Hebe told Sky News on Saturday.
He added: “British nationals should leave Ukraine immediately by any means possible and should not expect, as happened in the summer in Afghanistan, that there is a possibility of any military evacuation.”
On Friday, the British government urged its nationals to leave Ukraine for the time being, as commercial means are still available, and advised them to avoid travel there.
Hebei stated that no decision had been made yet on the British diplomatic presence in Ukraine.
