Aldaia prepares for the new DANA with sandbags around its station
The Valencian municipality of Aldaia is preparing for the episode of rain expected starting this Wednesday with the placement of sandbags in the area of its railway station, parallel to the Saleta ravine, which overflowed two weeks ago.
“The concern is once again DANA, of which we do not know the level of intensity. Every year in Aldaia we have to put protective measures in place, what happens is that now they are devastated by the last tsunami, which is what we experienced” that October 29, explains Guillermo Luján, mayor of the municipality, in statements to EFE.
Faced with the flooding of the ravine, common in this town in l’Horta Sud in Valencia, Aldaia has been protected by floodgates, which fit into the streets, but which have now disappeared after the ravages of the last DANA.
Without the usual protection, Aldaia resorts to sandbags, which between this Tuesday and Wednesday will be placed near the ravine to “channel the water and prevent it from entering the urban area,” as detailed by the mayor, who this morning He has approached the area to talk to the neighbors.
