The Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, said this Friday (May 3, 2024) that Brazil should be able to sell beef to Japan in 2025. According to him, there is a health challenge that the government needs to overcome to access the Japanese market . For Fávaro, this will be resolved by May of next year.
The issue is to have the Brazilian herd free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination. There are already some States that fulfill this requirement and the government has already sent the documentation to international bodies, but it should only be released next year.
