During December 2021, a 12-year-old girl named Ava White was murdered by a 14-year-old teenager after an argument over a video that would have been posted on the ‘Snapchat’ social network. Recently, the minor received his sentence.
Once again, a tragic event has shown that young people are having violent reactions to situations that occur on social networks.
During a December 2021 Christmas lights event in Liverpool, UK, an argument broke out between Ava and a 14-year-old whose name cannot be revealed due to legal reasons.
Apparently, ‘Child A’, as the local press has called him, recorded Ava playing with a friend of hers and uploaded the video to Snapchat, which sparked an argument between the group of the minor and that of the ‘Child A’, which ended when the young man stabbed her with a knife in the neck, which caused her death.

Although the young man denied having done so when he was in police custody for the first time, Ava’s family lawyers showed security camera videos from the place where it can be seen that he was involved in the murder.
In addition, traces of Ava’s blood were found on “Child A’s” jacket, despite the fact that he would have thrown it in a trash can near his house.
Due to this, in March 2022, the lawyers of ‘Child A’ informed the Police that the young man would help with the investigation and, in addition to accepting the murder, would say where they could find the knife -of almost 20 cm- with the who murdered the minor.
Apparently and according to what his lawyers reported, ‘Child A’ has learning difficulties, was in a special educational institute and this was not the first aggressive behavior he had.

When he testified again before the police, he admitted that he had lied because he was “afraid of going to prison” and that he “did not want to do it”, referring to the murder.
After his statement, the minor was sentenced by a judge to life in prison with a minimum of 13 years behind bars.
The family of the minor has declared that they hope that the name of their daughter’s murderer will be revealed, but this request was denied because it is a minor.
“Covering a murder in such a cold and calculating way… a 14-year-old boy should not take another girl’s life,” said Mia, the sister of the deceased minor, to the local media ‘The Mirror’.
