MoussaThe 62-year-old had been involved in a traffic accident in May, according to the same source, and died in the military hospital in Oran, where he had been receiving treatment since then for serious head injuries, state television reported.
He was a very popular figure in Algeria for his Olympic medal and for all the others he won in other events, such as the golds at the 1982 Military World Cup, the 1983 Mediterranean Games or the 1985 Pan Arab Games.
