Green light for Finland and Sweden to join NATO. Helsinki and Stockholm agreed to take concrete steps on the extradition of “terrorists” to Turkey which are located on their own territory. This is a decisive step for the approval of Recep Tayyip Erodgan, president of Turkey, at the entry of the two Nordic countries into the Alliance.
This is what the TRT broadcaster claims, which quotes the Turkish communications directorate, according to which the two countries – against which Ankara has removed the veto on their entry into NATO – have agreed to cooperate “in the fight against the PKK and its extensions” and to “prevent terrorist propaganda against Turkey”. They also agreed not to “impose an embargo on the Turkish defense industry and to increase cooperation”.
The creation of “a permanent joint mechanism with intelligence, justice and security officials for the implementation of the memorandum” was also agreed.
