The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) responded to a statement issued by a group regarding a discovery of human bone remains near the Section 5 South of mayan train.
The remains attributed to a culture prior to the Mayan would be located in Quintana Roo and it was determined, together with the Ministry of Culture, that they will not be affected, according to a publication by the Institute.
The mind was found in 2019 and is identified as part of the Holocene Archeology project, archaeologist Carmen Rojas Sandoval, researcher at the INAH Quintana Roo Center, who made the registration with the Public Registry of Monuments and Archaeological Zones of the INAH.
The institute pointed out that at the moment no scientific analyzes have been carried out that can date these remains, and this will be part of future work in the place carried out by professional archaeologists with authorization from the INAH.

The INAH He also pointed out that Octavio del Río works or collaborates with said institution, “for this reason, he distances himself from any action or affirmation that he may carry out; moreover, citizen Del Río is invited.”
Likewise, he invited any citizen or person who makes an archaeological or paleontological find, to go to the nearest INAH to report it, as stipulated in Mexican legislation.

Also, the INAH pointed out in the statement issued that the cave where these remains are located is outside the right of way of the mayan train.
This cave is located at a distance of approximately 400 meters“it can be emphatically affirmed, it will not have any affectation, which has been verified through technical studies of different specialties,” INAH assured in the statement.
In addition, it is indicated that they will carry out monitoring actions to avoid damages and looting.
