Corinthians beat him in the tiebreaker from the penalty spot to reach the quarterfinals.

Corinthians eliminated Boca Juniors in shots from the penalty spot (6-5) to reach the quarterfinals of the 2022 Copa Libertadores. The match was played at La Bombonera.

The game ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes. Boca wasted the chance to go up in the first half, when Darío Benedetto crashed a penalty into the left hand post of goalkeeper Cassio.

Sebastián Villa missed one of Boca’s charges.

Corinthians will be the rival in the quarterfinals of the winner of the key between Deportes Tolima and Flamengo. The Colombian runner-up will try to turn the series around at the Maracana, after losing 0-1 at the Murillo Toro.
