The new X7 is ready to divide the audience of German SUV enthusiasts. BMW has indeed revealed all the details of the facelift of its crossover, and only by taking a first quick look at the model can you see how the company has chosen to follow the path of revolution: the German car manufacturer has decided that the new X7 it will be the first model to embody the new design philosophy of its luxury models, which will therefore also be reserved for the new 7 and i7 Series that will debut on April 20.
Aesthetically speaking, alongside the extra large double kidney front grille, also available with Iconic Glow Led lighting, the very thin split daytime running lights characterized by an upper stripe touched by the bonnet, which also integrates the direction indicators. Nothing to do with the main Matrix Led headlights, which are offered as standard and exactly how the fog lights are moved downwards. For lovers of performance and sportiness, BMW also offers the M Sport package, which among the many specifications includes M-specific front and rear bumpers and 21 ″ two-tone wheels. Inside the cockpit a steals the show combined curved display, which includes a 12.3 “digital instrument cluster and a 14.9” touchscreen with BMW IDrive 8 software dedicated to the infotainment system. The traditional automatic gearbox selector also disappears, replaced by a much smaller switch.
As for the engine range, with the new X7 BMW focuses strongly on electrification, with the SUV being proposed in three mild-hybrid variants. At the base of the line-up we find the xDrive 40d, which is equipped with a six-cylinder three-liter diesel engine of 352 HP and 720 Nm combined with 48 Volt light hybrid technology; moving up the level, you pass to the xDrive40i, which combines the same mild-hybrid system with a six-cylinder three-liter petrol engine with 380 HP and 540 Nm; at the top of the range is the M60i xDrive, the most powerful of all, in which the specifications of the electrified engine reach peaks of 530 hp and 750 Nm. The debut on the market of the new BMW X7 is expected in the month of August.
