Bills, the maxi-increases continue. Assoutenti: “Stangata from € 2,942 per year per family”
The stings in the bill are not over. After the monstrous increase in electricity bills, the announcement of the new gas tariffs is expected in the coming weeks.
A decision, that of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (Arera), scheduled for early November and destined to further increase the already unprecedented burden on families.
“If analysts’ forecasts were confirmed with a 70% increase in gas tariffs starting from October, for Italians it would be a maxi-sting of 2,942 euros on an annual basis per family,” Assoutenti said. “Such a heavy rise in prices would lead to tariffs to rise in the last quarter of 2022 by 117% compared to the same quarter of 2021, when the uninterrupted series of energy increases began,” added the president of the association, Fabio Truzzi.
Already last week, Arera announced a 59 percent increase in electricity bills for the protected market in the last quarter of this year. For gas bills, on the other hand, the decision was postponed due to the changes decided in the summer on the fixing of prices on the protected market, which will be calculated on a monthly basis and no longer quarterly. According to Nomisma Energia estimates, if prices remain stable in October, a 70 percent increase will be decided.
