The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has had a conversation with the president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has condemned this Thursday the “unprovoked and unjustified” attack by Russia and has stressed that the partners and allies “will respond in a united and decisive manner” to the decision of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin , to start a military operation in Ukraine.
“President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring catastrophic loss of life and human suffering. Only Russia is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring,” he said, according to a White House statement.
Biden has explained that he will meet with his G7 counterparts this Thursday morning and will speak with the American people “to announce the additional consequences” that the United States and partners will impose on Russia for “this unnecessary act of aggression against Ukraine.”
“We will coordinate with our NATO allies to ensure a strong and united response that will deter any aggression against the Alliance. Jill and I are praying tonight for the brave and proud people of Ukraine,” she said.
Zelensky talks with Putin
The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has announced through his Twitter account that he has held a conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, to address the “unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces.”
“President Zelensky contacted me tonight and we just talked. I have condemned this unprovoked and unjustified attack by the Russian military forces. I have informed him of the measures we are taking to achieve international condemnation, including tonight in the UN Security Council », Biden reported in his official account.
“He has asked me to call on world leaders to speak out clearly against President Putin’s blatant aggression and to support the people of Ukraine. Tomorrow I will meet with the leaders of the G7, and the United States and our allies and partners will impose severe sanctions on Russia, “added the tenant of the White House.
“We will continue to provide support and assistance to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” Biden tweeted.
Military exercises are taking place in different cities of Ukraine, while diplomacy does not seem to have been able to prevent the start of a military operation in the Donbas region.
