Biathlon Tero Seppälä struggled for a place in the top ten but suffered a “annoying” loss

Mari Eder’s race was ruined at the second shooting range.

Tero Seppälä continued his quality performance at the World Biathlon Cup on Sunday, reaching 13th in the joint start in Annecy, France.

The race was the last in the World Cup before a break of almost three weeks.

Seppälä cleared the first two shooting locations of the race, ie the sleeping places cleanly. There was one round of fines from each of the uprights.

Seppälä came to the finish line in a steady group that struggled for ninth place.

“It came at a pace that was right for me, and I made the most of the washrooms. On the last puck, I had to do the work myself at the beginning, and it might show up at the end. There was an annoying final loss, ”Seppälä told Yle.

Seppälä was satisfied with his sleep shooting.

“It’s worked well in the early part of the season, except for yesterday. It had a good job. I didn’t collapse on the stand, but I couldn’t take the top pot from there. It has been quite good to have confidence in what you are doing, ”Seppälä told Yle.

Seppälä had a difference with the winner of the race in France To Emilien Jacquelin less than 50 seconds. Quentin Fillon Maillet brought France a double victory, Norway Tarjei Bø was third.

Women in the competition Mari Eder ranked 25th. Eder’s race crumbled to another shooting range, where he fired four passing shots. In total, the Finn’s balance was seven rounds of fines.

“It simply came to our notice then. The first sleeping place was good, but in that second one (shots) went scattered. And when you drop in that start at the start, you’re pretty alone in that (final race). The race is over when there is a (roughly) bad series, ”Eder said on Yle’s TV broadcast.

Eder’s early nine races held a good success in Annecy’s sprint (ninth), but otherwise the places have been far from the top.

“First let’s sit down, now there’s been a tight wrinkle, six races in ten days. We have to recover first. And practice now between now, when it is no longer easy to practice between the January and (February) Olympics. However, I think we are physically in a good position now, ”Eder explained to Yle in the following weeks.

The race was won by Sweden Elvira Öbergwho also won a Saturday chase. French Julia Simon was the second on Saturday.
