A week of growing emotions for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team for the first time at the Indonesian GP with the colors of Pertamina Lubricants and riding the special livery with the colors of the Indonesian flag. Marco Bezzecchi crossed the finish line in fifth place but fell during the eighth lap, when he was fighting in the group of the strongest, Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Starting from second place on the grid and in P5 after the first lap, Marco is among the protagonists of Sunday in Mandalika. In the tussle for the third step of the podium with Morbidelli, Bagnaia and Bastianini he sets a great pace and only gives in at the end. With today’s points he is ninth in the general with 125 points.
Tenth in the standings (122 points ed.) Fabio, who after an excellent start at the start, is in the wake of the strongest group. Great battle with Marquez and Bagnaia before being the victim of a crash, without consequences, and being forced to retire. A weekend without points but the possibility of turning the page next Sunday (6 October ed.) at the Japanese GP at the Mobility Resort in Motegi.
Marco Bezzecchi: “What a beautiful brawl and what a truly special week here in Indonesia with so much love from the people. I tried, but I was much more at the limit than Franco with the tire because he was in the front position of the fighting group for the entire race. It’s a shame, but a technical problem at the start, which we haven’t yet fully understood, penalized us. The front lowerer didn’t engage three times so compared to the others I practically started with the rear. The soft was the right choice, I was able to ride as I wanted and do my race. I’m happy, the battle always gives pleasure in our sport.
Fabio Di Giannantonio: “In any case, the cheering and affection of the fans here in Indonesia made this weekend special even if I finish without points. Today we made a different choice compared to the group, but after yesterday’s race we had a lot of information and we started to think that the soft could be a solution for today. We had a great pace, we probably lost too much time with Marc (Marquez ed.) because I was faster at that moment. When I passed him I was going fast, but suddenly I lost the front and couldn’t do anything.
