Electricity in Italy is a question of segment A. The numbers relating to registrations say so, with the car market in our country once again seeing a smaller car among the best-selling BEVs of the month. At the top of the ranking there is still Fiat 500queen of sales also in June 2022. Cinquino on tap confirms its leadership at the top of the Italian and European market, with 781 units in June thus contributing to 3,579 cars sold in the first six months of the year and a 14.3% share of the total electric power units registered, without prejudice to 25,082 cars on tap in mid-2022.
However, the Fiat 500 drops compared to 2021, when 955 cars were registered in the same month. Tesla Model Y which recovered several positions compared to the month of May where it was not even in the top ten of the best-selling electric cars in Italy. The crossover of the American brand closed June 2022 with 769 units sold (the comparison on 2021 is not possible since the Model Y was not yet on sale). A result that contributes to fourth place in the ranking since the beginning of the year, in which the battery-powered car of the Palo Alto brand recorded 1,720 units. On the other hand, Smart Fortwo improves its performance with 723 registrations against 615 units in the same month of 2021, also second in the annual general classification with 2,419 units.
It also falls into the rankings Tesla Model 3 with 374 units registered, a decrease compared to the 984 cars sold in the same period of 2021. In fifth position in this special ranking is the Renault Twingo with 271 units, also in this case down compared to June last year when the small French battery-powered 831 units were sold. Followed by Peugeot 208 with 222 registered specimens and then Renault Zoe with 217, able to recover a position compared to May. In eighth place comes the newcomer of the Losanga, Renault Megane with the first 189 registered units of the battery-powered SUV born on the new Alliance platform. To close the ranking of the best-selling electric cars of the month is Volkswagen ID.3 which records 170 cars sold. The month of June therefore ends with 6,190 registrationswith a market share of 4.8% compared to 4.7% in the same period of 2021 when, however, 7,029 cars sold were sold.
