The honeymoon among Italian motorists will never end Dacia Duster? Even in 2021 the answer is only one: in our country, the SUV of the car manufacturer controlled by the Renault group is always firmly in the top positions in terms of absolute sales. Duster is therefore one of the best SUVs of the year for results and also for the restyling received, able to give the model a touch of youth and relaunch it towards a prosperous future. And who knows, hybrid or electric.
Versatility, practicality and accessibility are the three adjectives that perfectly describe Dacia Duster. And with the 2021 modernization, the style has improved, aligning itself with the stylistic language introduced with the new Sandero. Do you buy the Duster because it’s a nice car? Not exactly: the reasons for arriving at the court of Dacia are always the same, and they are very understandable because if it is true that technology is liked, not everyone is interested in having the latest Tesla-style technology. AND the price always has its great importance.
Returning to the restyling, on the front of the car there is a revised grille, with chrome plating that embellishes the geometric elements of the grille. Also new are the Y-signature headlights. On the new Dacia Duster they were also introduced for the first time the LED turn signals in the front. New 16 and 17-inch wheels with dedicated design have also been added, as well as the new rear spoiler, both developed in the wind tunnel. There were also changes inside the cockpit, with the introduction of new upholstery. The center console has been raised, with a sliding armrest up to 70 mm that hides a 1.1-liter storage compartment, as well as USB charging sockets for rear passengers.
As for the range of engines, the main novelty is the introduction of the 6-speed EDC automatic transmission available in conjunction with the TCe 150 2-wheel drive engine. The choice of the double clutch made it possible to make shifting smoother and faster, optimizing comfort and overall efficiency. The powertrain offer also includes the 115 HP dCi diesel unit, with 2 or 4 wheel drive, with 6-speed manual transmission or the 90 HP 2-wheel drive TCe petrol unit with 6-speed manual transmission. An important upgrade was also made on the new Duster for the bi-fuel version, the absolute best seller on the Italian market. The LPG version of Dacia’s SUV now boasts a tank with a capacity increased by around 50%, or 49.8 liters. The 100 HP 2-wheel drive ECO-G version is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission. There are also various driver assistance devices, mostly optional or available depending on the trim level. The price list starts at around 13,000 euros for the Access version equipped with the 90 bhp TCe, going up to over € 22,000 for the Prestige with the 150 bhp TCe with the six-speed EDC double clutch.
Julien Ferry, Duster Program Director, told us: “For us this model is very important: we have developed this evolution over the last three years to meet the needs of the market and those of customers“. And with this model, loyalty isn’t a word just to say.
