Double important recognition for Bentley Continental GT in Europe. The British car manufacturer's grand touring coupé triumphed for the third time in a row in the category of imported cars in the luxury segment in the survey of the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, and at the same time it won for the first time ever the Best cars award in the luxury category by Auto Illustriert in Switzerland.
Double European recognition
A double award that allows Bentley to start 2024 in the best possible way, right in the middle of the process electrification of its range which will obviously also involve Continental GT: we recall in fact that European orders for the Continental GT and GTC models with V8 engines closed at the end of last year in line with the company's Beyond100 strategy, which involves the introduction of the hybrid variant by the end of next year.
The end of an era
Speaking of transition, let's also remember that the production of the iconic engine W12 will end by the end of 2024. To date, Bentley can boast over 100,000 units hand-built in Crewe, confirming the important role that this engine has had in the history of the British brand but which due to force majeure will have to say goodbye to the company.
Bentley enthusiastic
“We are honoured in receiving the Auto Motor und Sport award for the third consecutive year and for the first time an award given to us by Auto Illustrierte – commented Balazs Rooz, Regional Director of Bentley Motors Europe – It is extremely significant and gratifying for us to know that the Continental GT was chosen as 'Best Car' by the readers of the magazine who had the opportunity to evaluate important and competitive models. These are awards that underline the work carried out by the various Crewe teams that participate in the creation of the Continental GT, particularly appreciated as an iconic European Grand Tourer”.
