Toni Kohonen continues his legal battle against Manse PP in the Court of Appeal.
A baseball legend Toni Kohonen and Manse PP's dispute over illegal dismissal was discussed in Pirkanmaa district court on Friday. Kohonen is not satisfied with the verdict, but plans to appeal it to the Court of Appeal.
The district court found that Manse PP was guilty of an unjustified dismissal and ordered the club to pay Kohonen 13,500 euros as compensation, including late payment interest. In addition, Manse was ordered to pay holiday allowances of 1,800 euros.
Although Manse PP was found to be guilty of unjustified dismissal, Kohonen had to pay even more. He was ordered to pay the Tampere club court costs of 36,053 euros with default interest.
This surprises Koho.
“A special sentence. Rarely, the “winner” is ordered to pay legal costs. We have read the papers and discussed with my case manager Olli Rausteen with for a couple of hours. We plan to appeal and take the case to the Court of Appeal,” says Kohonen.
“We didn't see any other option”.
Dispute concerns the game director of Manse PP. Kohonen was named game director in November 2022, but the club reportedly fired him in February 2023.
