George Russell he achieved the best time of the last morning of tests on the Montmeló circuit. The British of the Mercedes lapped in 1: 19.233, the fastest time recorded in these two and a half days but – it must be emphasized – found with the C5 compound, therefore the most performing one. For the former Williams 66 laps that perfectly conclude three intense days, full of ideas and data shared with the engineers.
In a morning characterized by four red flags (two of which caused by Guanyu Zhou), power unit problems for Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel and the accident of Pierre Gasly, world champion Max Verstappen ( +0.523 but with two compounds behind Russell). Third place for Vettel himself, also on C5. Fourth was Charles Leclerc, author of 44 laps: the Monegasque was seven thousandths slower than his former teammate, but like Verstappen he got the lap on the C3 tire. Following in the standings Latifi, Norris, Alonso, Zhou, Gasly, Albon and Mazepin.
