Hundreds of Manchester United fans welcomed the English team upon its arrival at a Bangkok airport, to play a friendly match against his compatriot and English Premier League rival Liverpool later this week.
Some United fans were disappointed with the absence of the famous Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo with United, but the presence of new coach Eric ten Hag alongside prominent players such as midfielder Bruno Fernandes, goalkeeper David de Gea and striker Marcus Rashford has pleased them.
One person who has supported United since 1999 said: “I’m a bit disappointed that Ronaldo didn’t show up. I still admire him though because he is my idol.
The two English teams will meet in a friendly match next Tuesday, which will be the first match from abroad hosted by Thailand since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Liverpool are expected to arrive in Thailand on Sunday.
The confrontation comes within the framework of the two teams’ preparations for the new football season in England, which begins next month.
After Thailand, United will travel to Melbourne, Australia, while Liverpool will travel to Singapore.
