The director of publishing of Larian StudiosMichael Douse, always very active on social media, confirmed in recent hours that the official mod support in Baldur's Gate 3 is on the way, and that it's a project the team has been working on for quite some time now.
In the post published on content creationwhile trying to offer safe tools that guarantee the solidity of the game.
“We generally don't talk about things that aren't ready yet, but as you've probably read, we're making an exception in this case,” Douse said, elaborating on an item that was introduced in the Hotfix 19 notes.
A comprehensive, cross-platform toolkit
“We are working on a plan for mod support as well robust and cross-platform, in order to publish it during the year. We love our modding community and want to support it, it's coming.”
With this, Larian wanted to confirm that official mod support should arrive during the 2024 and it will likely be a rather extensive and robust toolkit, capable of integrating efficiently with the Baldur's Gate 3 code.
Also very interesting is the mention of the fact that it is a cross-platform toolkit, which suggests that it will also be published on PS5 and Xbox Series console.
We are therefore waiting for updates on the issue, while we remember that the large Patch 6 of Baldur's Gate 3 was recently published, and speaking of contributions from users, let's review the case of Nicolas Cage's face on the characters of the game.
