F1 Qualifying Bahrain, the news
The first pole position of the 2024 season bears the signature of Max Verstappenwhich however needed a phenomenal last lap to get the better of very tight competition, represented above all by the Ferrari of an excellent Charles Leclerc, who came second despite a less than perfect lap in Q3. The one he achieved in Q2 would have been 'enough' for him to compete with Verstappen for first place. Third position and second row for George Russell, who clearly beats – at least in terms of position – a disappointing Lewis Hamilton, only 9th. The second Ferrari appears alongside the Mercedes #63 Carlos Sainz. Only third row for Sergio Perez, in the second RB20, flanked by an eternal Alonso with Aston Martin. The fourth row is all 'papaya', with the two McLarens of Norris and Piastri. Nico Hulkenberg also deserves a worthy mention, finishing tenth and entering Q3 with Haas.
In Q2 the two Racing Bulls had said goodbye to the company, with Ricciardo only 14th and Tsunoda 11th, a disappointing Lance Stroll (12th) and then Albon's Williams (13th) and the second Haas of Kevin Magnussen (15th) .
Alpine's first qualifying was a nightmare, which saw both its cars eliminated in Q1 with Ocon and Gasly starting in the penultimate and last position respectively tomorrow. Sargeant and the two Kick-Saubers of Zhou and Bottas were also out in the first round.
