Check the complete list of nominees at the BAFTA awards for categories as best film, best address or best actor and actress
The British Cinema Academy celebrates this Sunday, February 16, the BAFTA Awards. The 78th edition of the awards will be held at the Royal Festival Hall in London and will be presented by actor David Tennant.
‘Conclave’directed by Edward Berger, heads the list of nominees at the BAFTA Awards, with 12 candidacies, closely followed by ‘Emilia Pérez’, by Jacques Audiard, with 11, and ‘The brutalist’by Brady Corbet, with 9.
The BAFTAs are one of the most prestigious events in the film industry worldwide. And, together with the Golden Globes or the Actors Union Awards, they are a good indicative of what can happen in the Oscars Awards, which are held on March 3.
However, the gala will not be exempt from controversies. The main one will be the absence of Karla Sofía Gascónprotagonist of ‘Emilia Pérez’ and nominated for best actress, who will not attend the ceremony due to the controversy generated by former racist and Islamophobic cutting tweets.
